Marla Scharp's case reopened
In 1984, Henry Lee Lucas "confessed" to killing Marla Scharp in 1978 in Provo, Utah. As with many others, the confession does not hold up. The Provo Police Department has now agreed to reopen the case. Marla's sister Leah Scharp and other family members asked for help from the community and thanked the Utah Cold Case Coalition, whose investigation led to the second look. A guest at the conference (far right) is the daughter of a man murdered in Texas in 1979 - another false Lucas confession.
